i have such a fondness for snowberries. sister and i found a large stand of them this afternoon. we went for a long drive after breakfast. it was wonderful. there were clusters of dudleya high up on slabs of stone. i ate a few of the pointed sweet-tart rosehips we found growing amid the snowberries. sister developed a crush of the equine variety after spotting an especially beautiful appaloosa in a field of alfalfa haulm. i buried my hands in the silkiest silt and filled a bag with it to amend my potting mixture at home. sister and i gabbed nearly the whole trip. we tend to do that.

and here’s the excursion’s theme song.
